Berlin

i feel alive.

a vitality and energy.

first impressions are often misleading. but im in love with berlin. already. the cool corner shops. the fashion stores. the local art scene. the buzz of people moving.

i saw a quote that i liked in a book. it said-
two of the most important things a parent can give a child are roots and wings.

kinda cool.

so no i havent really done much here yet. went to a museum and saw some old stuff. but man i felt alive just walking the streets. even in the museum surrounded by antiquity. even shortly after i stepped of the train i felt it. and wrote down in my journal while i was eating a sausage and fries and drinking a sprite (all soft drinks taste better over here, actually every beverage period). i wrote 'i speak often of the vitality of travel. that in this transient and timeless state i feel life so vibrantly, so undeniably. i feel its energy rushing around me like ocean currents.'

and dresden was great, and i didnt want to leave. but it was the people mostly that i didnt want to leave, hubert and torston and manuela and andrew. berlin has a rare energy, an energy that perhaps once occupied rome or paris or new york. perhaps still does in places.

i could be wrong, or smitten. but my mind was rushing, and my feet were itching, and my eyes were searching, and my lips were smiling, and my heart was flying.
i get the feeling that IT happens in berlin.
