Yes I am Alive

So I made it. At last. Slept a few hours here and there but mostly ive been awake for about 24 hours. its not so bad when youre moving but oh the waiting. Apparently Im the first one here. had some trouble figuring out the room situation as the lady at the front desk spoke no english. and i obviously speak no hungarian. thankfully with the help of passing students i got a room. im a little surprised that no one else is here. but orientation is wednesday so no doubt people will be showing up soon... no doubt.

so im not the greatest planner in the world. but i did have the foresight to get some money converted before i left to euro and forint. however i did not have the sense to bring it with me. so yes i have no money. well i have a little that i got at the airport for the shuttle ride over here to the hotel. and when i say hotel i mean dormitory. and when i say dormitory imagine milton daniel in fifty years with no AC. at some juncture i was misinformed about that whole hotel thing. and just think, those jerks in germany are staying in bonafide villas. its cool though im not complaining. it is already a different world and that is what im looking for right?

the zurich airport is fantastic. well designed comfortable easy to navigate. the budapest airport is a different story. i was waiting for the shuttle to come. the drivers come call out street names or places that they are going to. but hungarian spoken and hungarian written are two different worlds. so when one driver kept calling out words that sounded nothing like what the words my piece of paper looked like, and nobody was responding, i finallz got up walked over to him -is this you- he says -maybe- i say -is that what this says?-

met a couple guys. jorge a guatamalan going to travel in germany rode next to me on the flight from dfw. and daniel a mexican art major from unt (small world) i spoke with at length during my layover in zurich.

but anyway i made it alive, albiet without any dough. not sure what to do tonight...
ill figure something out.

dropped a few photos on my flickr.

peace homies.
